Will Moore and Sam Clark secure win for Reading Memorial
Reading Memorial's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Sunday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Arlington Spy Ponders. That's more bragging rights for Reading Memorial, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Michael Baylis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on nine hits. Those seven innings set a new season-high mark for him.
On the hitting side, Sam Clark and Will Moore did most of the damage at the plate: Clark scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Moore went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a double. Another player making a difference was Matt Fichera, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Reading Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season. As for Arlington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.
As of now, neither Reading Memorial nor Arlington have any future games scheduled.
